The Salt River Review appears three times a year. Submissions accepted by e -mail only; September and October for the winter issue, February and March for the spring issue, and June through August for the fall issue.

Editorial preferences are for poetry with fresh language and images, prose poems that are more than colorful or clever prose, short fiction (such as that in the current issue), and brief reviews, though most reviews are done in-house. Literary non-fiction should be fresh and incisive - we are not interested in memoir or personal narrative.

There is no payment for work published in The Salt River Review.

Generally, we do not publish work that has already appeared in print, though we might make an exception in the case of work that is simply too good to pass up - in that case, it is the author's responsibility to obtain permission from the original publisher for its appearance in The Salt River Review.

When submitting, please

1) Write in subject line: SRR submission: (your name); e-mail arriving without that designation will not be read
2) Paste text of submission in the body of your message; DO NOT attach files - messages with attached files will be deleted unread; DO NOT send submissions in html or in RFT ("RichText format")
3) Include a 2 - 5 line bio note
4) Indicate whether we have your permission to hotlink your e-mail address on our bio notes page.
Submissions without all of the above will be considered incomplete and will be returned unread.
